  Earn Extra from Letting

Why not earn money from letting your holiday home while you're not using it. The valuable income you earn from holiday letting could contribute to your annual fees or enable you to enjoy even more while you're away at your home from home.

Kingsdown Park advertises extensively online and in the National Media and works closely with Hoseasons and other Tour Operators. Kingsdown attracts holidaymakers all year round & particularly during school holidays. This demand for selfcatering holidays at our Park means a constant demand for quality holiday home accommodation.

That's where you can benefit! Holiday Letting can be a valuable source of income with owners earning enough Holiday Letting income to cover their annual running costs. Most of our new owners consider Holiday Letting at some stage and we have listed the most commonly asked questions to consider before deciding to let your holiday home to holidaymakers.

Q.  Do I have to let through Kingsdown Park?
A.  You are free to let your holiday home only to family & friends or through the Kingsdown Park Holiday Letting Programme, or use a combination of both.

Q.  What commission do you charge?
A.  If your holiday home is let through Kingsdown Park, a commission fee of 15% plus VAT is charged to the net accommodation tariff after any discounts applied.

Q.  How much money will I earn and when is it paid?
A.  This really depends on the number of weeks you allow your holiday home to be let for and during what time of the year. Letting levels are not guaranteed, unless you are part of the 'Guaranteed Letting Agreement'. The earnings guide will give you an idea of how much you can earn with flexible Holiday Letting, indicating average earnings for each grade of Lodge based on recent years. Letting is accredited to your account at the end of the month.

Q.  Can I claim tax relief?
A.  If you are a taxpayer and your holiday home is to be let for 20 weeks or more and is actually let for 10 weeks or more, you may be entitled to a tax rebate. A Kingsdown Park Advisor can put you in touch with an independent tax specialist for further help and advice.

Q.  When is the best time to let my holiday home?
A.  You can let your holiday home for 3, 4 or 7 nights at any time.
  • 3 night weekend breaks (Friday to Sunday) are in high demand throughout the season, particularly outside of the summer period and school holidays.
  • 4 night midweek breaks (Monday to Friday) are most popular during school holidays and peak holiday times.
  • 7 night breaks (Saturday to Saturday) are again most popular during school holidays and peak holiday times.
